“The wound is the place where the light enters you.” - Rumi
Nobody wants a cut — it can sting, throb or feel like the absolute worst pain in your life. Either way, it’s uncomfortable.
The situation we are currently in is like a cut. For some of us; it stings. The unknown is scary, the inconvenience is annoying, the monotony irritating.
For others; it throbs. Financial failures, sick loved ones, increased stress level.
And for some; this pandemic is the worst pain in their life. The loss of their loved one — the ultimate pain. For people experiencing that pain, I feel empathy for them and send positive, healing thoughts.
But, the wound is the place where the light enters.
I’m not saying this applies to those who are experiencing the worst pain in their life; THAT is devastating and a completely different level.
But, maybe it is a way that the rest of us can approach it.
What exactly is “the light”? That is JOY.
Can you find the joy? You may have to dig deep — like, haul out the heavy machinery here and do some MAJOR digging to get past those layers of dirt and rock and uncomfortable feelings.
But, if you really think about it, you MAY be able to find something?
For me; being on “lockdown” allowed me the opportunity to really evaluate everything going on in my life. How I spent my time, what was productive, what I shouldn’t be doing, what I should add etc. Whereas, prior to this halt I was simply of a “go, go, go” mindset — which was beginning to lead to ZERO light...as in BURNOUT.
I now have a full (not just for work, which I was doing anyway) time-blocked schedule (including blocks of “me time”) and dusted off some of my previously utilized productivity and time-management tools. I even schedule (and limit) my personal social media time (work-related social media not included) and meals (like this DELICIOUS breakfast).

So; THAT is the light that is entering my wound - it’s the JOY that is coming from this ugly situation.
Find your light. 💡
