What is your morning ritual?

☀️ Morning ritual.
What is that for you?
I’m not talking the rushing out of bed, getting the kid’s ready, running around like a chicken with its head cut off sort of deal...
I’m talking the stuff that feeds your soul and empowers your day.
I get it. Mornings ARE tough. But, if you can (and REALLY try) set your alarm for a little bit earlier...even ten minutes before the crazy starts to kick in.
Take that time for YOURSELF.
Whether you are a student...a parent...an office worker...a teacher...a nurse...whatever. Take back YOUR time before it becomes someone else’s.
I have multiple things I do when I first wake up but, of my day empowering list, the most important to me (besides coffee ☕️🤷🏻♀️) is a huge glass of water and a quick jot in my gratitude journal.
Gratitude is super important. It allows you to focus on the positive things in your life, rather than the negative. When we focus solely on the negative, it perpetuates the cycle of even more negative things happening.
Instead, focus on the positive — even if you have to dig REAAAALLLLLY deep.
You don’t need a fancy journal, a piece of loose leaf is fine — heck, you can even use toilet paper! Actually, don’t use TP...that has been equivalent to the Holy Grail lately.
I previously used a notebook from the Dollarama until a good friend of mine, who is full of good ideas, purchased one from Amazon that is SUPER CUTE and CHEAP!
You can do this in the morning (definitely my preference) and reflect on the day before OR, you can do it in the evening to reflect on that day.
Focus on the following:
✨ Reflections of the day
✨ What you’re grateful for that day
✨ Challenges you’ve faced
✨ Goals for the day ahead
One line — that’s all you need.
Be consistent with it (doesn’t have to be EVERY morning — base it on a schedule that is doable for you) and see how it changes you.
Remember, it’s not happiness that brings us gratitude, it’s gratitude that brings us happiness. 💕
Have a good one, friends!
